September is “Template month” here at ManufactOn (among other things)!  If you have common prefabs that you build, and who doesn’t, ManufactOn can cut your set-up and delivery time from your detailing team into the shop significantly.

Here’s a summary of what’s new…

CLONING FROM A TEMPLATE

PREFIX/SUFFIX & CREATING MULTIPLE

Cloning is a great way to quickly and easily set-up production orders for your most common prefabs.  However, most of the time, although the content of the order is the same, like links to documents, checklists, manufacturing runs, etc. the NAME of the item and order you are creating will change a bit for each order based on the level, zone or unit the prefab is being create.

With this latest release, you can now tweak the order and item name just before you save it, AND you can fire off a bunch of them by selecting “Save, Then Create Another” which keeps you right in the same dialog with only minor changes to the prefix or suffix of the order/item name required to make your next prefab package.

CLONING IN THE MANUFACTURING STAGE

For those templated orders which are 100% complete and will require no additional detailing, it is now possible to create and push them directly into the shop by starting the process in the Manufacturing stage!

But wait, there’s more… Cloning is not the only place we’ve made enhancements!

PREFAB IN INVENTORY… ACROSS MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

We recognize that “Inventory” is not only the raw materials coming into your shop, but also the prefabs which are coming out!

With that, our Inventory Management module now tracks prefabs like any other unit of goods you have in and around your facility.  In addition, to help identify exactly where a particular item is located, we now allow you to show your inventory for a project across all of your production and storage locations!

PROJECT & TEAM IMPORT

If you have a system that acts as your source of truth for project names, IDs, addresses and team members, creating a project in ManufactOn based on that data is as simple as export / import, and the entire project is set-up, ready to go, with the project team invited and notified!

And lastly…

MULTI-MOVE BACKWARDS

Don’t you hate it when a design change happens AFTER you’ve completed the shop drawings and sent them to Manufacturing?!  Well, guess what, it happens and ManufactOn can make those experiences a little less unpleasant by allowing you to grab a whole bunch of stuff that’s in Production (Detailing, Manufacturing, QA) and send them all back, at once, to the previous step.

Sometimes it’s the little things, isn’t it?
